blue mohair

this makes me crave a blue mohair sofa...how gorgeous is that shade of blue?  it reminds me of this study by amanda nisbet.

a cool monogram

how great are these letter side tables?  they'd certainly personalize our little family's living room with style.

it really is amazing how many different faces this little boy makes.

rifle paper co.

i decided to poke around rifle paper co.'s website to see what other lovely paper creations they have and came across this adorable alphabet print.  how precious.

i introduce you to the giant, silver mylar balloons that i mentioned before.  did i mention they were giant?  cricket loved his father's day display and the un-gourmet breakfast that i concocted: pancakes, strawberries, and bacon.  no, i'm not a fancy chef.  happy father's day to all of the marvelous daddies of the world.

happy daddy's day!

my festive father's day purchase.  i'm up feeding the little bitty man while my husband is asleep.  so, before i bathe holden for his first trip to church, i'm planning on setting up a precious little vignette for this family's first father's day.  photos to come.  and below is the card i bought both my husband and father from rifle paper co.  it's perfect for my monkey suit men.

the farmhouse fund

this little heifer sits proudly on our coffee table as a reminder of one of our big, fat goals...to buy or build a farmhouse.  my husband and i have dreams of our little family pouncing around a pasture in hunter rubber boots...okay, he may not care that they are hunter boots but, in my head, they are.

the little cricket says...

"good morning and happy father's day weekend."

the excitement is building...

my gracious in-laws gifted me with this killer set of wheels and, with our impending beach trip, i'm off to investigate ways to include the little cricket of the house.  here's to hoping i find the perfect bike trailer for the perfect little companion.

hello, little buddy!

five & a half weeks.

yesterday marked a milestone for our tiny boy.  he is officially a smiler.  yes, he now smiles for a reason other than gas.  he blessed this world with his smile many times yesterday and gave his daddy several great big grins when he got home from work.  it was the most beautiful thing you've ever seen in your life and the gummiest smile you'll ever see as well.

my husband and i are now "those parents" that goo goo and ga ga incessantly in order to pry another toothless grin from our little man.  what a blessing this little boy is.

yipee!

one of my favorite, most-indulgent authors, jane green, just released her latest book and i can't wait to devour it.  i've also seen some good reviews of dominique browning's slow love.  browning was the editor in chief at house & garden, the now-defunct magazine, the likes of which i miss every day.  her novel is about the loss of her job and how she's found happiness outside the publishing world.
i'm currently chomping my way through the summer we read gatsby and i'm hoping it's as delicious as emily giffin's heart of the matter that i recently finished.  i'll let you know.

4 weeks

our little man is now four weeks old (one month tomorrow) and i never thought i'd say this but i can't believe that he's already a month old.  time seemed to creep for so long and now i feel like it's starting to fly by.

so, before my little guy and i head out for some errands (but mostly for my own sanity and quickly encroaching cabin fever), i'm showing off the quad-weeker's latest snaps.

a smile & a yawn...

3 weeks old.  the little guy is starting to get the hang of life outside the womb.  his smiles are ultimately limited to tummy rumblings and not happy emotions but i'm awaiting the day that he shows off those little gums for a reason that's not gastric-motivated.  i hope you enjoy this little face as much as i do.
